  • Nine CRPF personnel were injured on Tuesday in a landmine blast triggered by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.

The incident took place when naxalites blew up a police vehicle carrying the jawans, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Ankit Garg said.

The blast occurred when the police truck, also carrying ration goods for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was attacked by naxalites, near the Bijapur valley, 450 kilometers from the state headquarters, Garg said.

The injured jawans have been admitted to the district hospital and two of those who received serious wounds have been referred to Jagdalpur, police said.

Additional police force has been rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation, Garg added.
