Ninety per cent of commuters travelling on the Delhi Metro have expressed satisfaction on the quality of services offered,says a recent survey conducted by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
Eighty-nine per cent of the commuters ranked the Metro services from excellent to good. While 8 per cent commuters said the overall services were excellent,50 per cent stated that the services very good. About 31 per cent commuters ranked the services as good.
The survey was conducted by the DMRC in March across all six operational lines of the Metro. A total of 33,987 commuters were interviewed that is more than two per cent of the total daily commuters on the Metro, said Anuj Dayal,spokesperson,DMRC.
Regarding punctuality,93 per cent commuters expressed their satisfaction,47 per cent said it was good,while 33 per cent ranked it as very good and 13 per cent it was satisfactory. The remaining six per cent said it needed improvement.
On the cleanliness of stations,47 per cent ranked it as good,while 38 per cent ranked it as excellent,41 per cent ranked the cleanliness of trains as excellent,while 47 per cent ranked it as good. A total of 86 per cent commuters said they were satisfied with the comfort levels in the trains. While 47 percent ranked it as good,39 percent ranked trains comfort as excellent.
Ninety per cent commuters said they were happy with the Metros ticketing facilities there were 45 per cent commuters voting the facilities as excellent and good each,while seven per cent said it was satisfactory. Only 3 per cent said the facilities needed improvement.
Dayal said the survey also showed high satisfaction levels with regard to train announcements,with 88 per cent rating the system as Excellent to Good .
The survey was conducted through random sampling, Dayal added.
