  • Reiterating the statement of Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Govindrao Adik on Wednesday urged party workers to cooperate with the decisions taken by the party leadership regarding alliance with the Congress party.

Addressing a training workshop organised by the Parvati unit, Adik said the decision on a pre-poll alliance between Congress and NCP should be taken by the party high command. “It cannot be based on local Congress leaders’ decision,” he said while calling on party workers to go with the decision of the party.

Adik also echoed the sentiments of some of the party members, who feel the Congress has not been fair to them. He pointed out that the NCP had played a major role in the win of the Pune Lok Sabha candidate and despite that, the Congress leaders were targeting NCP leaders.

However, he said the final decision of the alliance rests with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and NCP president Sharad Pawar. The daylong meet also saw the NCP leaders express their views on the alliance with the Congress. They feelings of the common party worker should be taken into consideration, they said.
