Weeks before Afghanistan goes to polls,India and Afghanistan will discuss the situation in the region and ways to enhance bilateral ties when Foreign Ministers of the two countries meet here on Monday. The two sides are also expected to discuss the situation in the wake of the recent talks between India and Pakistan in Egypt.

Afghanistan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta is in town on the invitation of his Indian counterpart S M Krishna. Besides meeting Krishna,Spanta will also call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Spantas visit carries forward the sequence of frequent high-level visits between the two sides. Indias involvement in the war-torn country is currently limited to humanitarian aid and infrastructure projects.
