After 27 years, West Bengal is all set to host the six-day-long 36th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition for Children beginning November 17. To be held at the Yuvabharati Krirangan, the exhibition will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

“In West Bengal there is a lot of enthusiasm in students about such science exhibitions. Such exhibitions are held almost every year in schools in the state,” said State School Education Minister Partha De.

“The exhibits have been selected by the NCERT through competitions at the block, district and state levels,” said professor B K Tripathi, an NCERT representative and coordinator of the exhibition.

The programme is organised each year by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in various states of the country. Of the 201 exhibits 20 will be selected and sent to the Indian National Science Congress (INSC), NCERT officials said.
