The Lok Janshakti Party led by former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has announced a tie-up with six political outfits in Kerala to form a Secular Democratic Front for the polls. The Front will put up candidates in all 140 constituencies,Paswan said. The other parties are Kerala Dalit Panthers,Republican Party of India,People’s Green Party,Left Bahujan Forum,Secular National Dravida Party and Social Democratic Party of India. The BSP too is contesting all 140 seats. Paswan said there have been no discussions with Mayawati.

No postponement for Kerala polls
Kochi:
The Kerala High Court dismissed a writ petition seeking postponement of the elections from April 13 M Vinod Vengeri of Kozhikode had submitted that as the polls were scheduled “in the midst of holidays and festivals”,most people would not turn up to cast their votes. The petitioner had sought postponement after Vishu,which falls on April 14. A division bench said the election process has been set in motion already; the court cannot interfere.
