  • BJP, making desperate attempts to come back to power at the Centre, is going by the stars and planetary positions, to ensure that a key conclave beginning in Bangalore, on Friday brings good luck.

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, an astrology enthusiast, has taken extra pains to avoid ‘Rahu Kalam’ (inauspicious period) during the three-day meet, party sources said.

Yeddyurappa, who became the first saffron Chief Minister of the south after he changed the spelling of his name, is ensuring that the National Executive is held at an astrologically compatible time.

The inaugural session of the executive, which normally starts in the morning, would this time commence only when the clock strucks noon. The reason being on Friday the Rahu Kalam falls between 10.30 to 12.

The decision to start the meet by noon is also slated to delay the lunch for the top leaders well past two after president Rajnath Singh’s inaugural address.

As per the sources, the personal astrologers of the chief minister have been roped in to make sure that ‘nothing inauspicious’ happens in the conclave.

Special timings as per the position of the stars have been calculated for the inaugural lighting of the lamp too.

The saffron party would be spared of any time crunch on the second day as the Rahu Kalam on Saturday would fall between nine and half past ten in the morning. The rest of the day has been found ‘auspicious’ by the organisers for working.

The second day would also witness the rally by party’s Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani at the High School Grounds in Bangalore.

    ... contd.

Why Single BJPBy: C Paddy | 17-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward Truth is that every single party believes in astrology. The Congress leaders are the most ardent practicioners and most have in-house astrologers guiding them. However they are very discrete and silent about it. Why India, even abroad most of the discerning do consult astrologers for an auspicious time when doing something of importance to them.Is this a paranoi ? BJP ?

count stars?By: shaffi | 13-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward funny to hear this as a party relying on stars for their luck. where s their deeds, courage, inspiration, and more over their commitment to the nation as individuals. Only a partys commitment to the nation and ther future programmes to lead the country in a patriotic way can bring success to a party not the stars. What will the politicians do in time of emergency of our country, will they be counsulting astrolegers and count stars. then why not astrolergers rulke the country.please be practical...........
ThugsBy: Rajiv Kumar | 11-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward What do you expect from thugs?
Good GoingBy: KK Singh | 11-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward Good going. But they should not make a fool of themselves by commenting on complicated topics such as the N-deal. They should try to lay down a vision for India mainly focusing on eradication of poverty and creating job growth.
