A spokesman for Imran’s political party Tehreek-e-Insaaf party said the former all-rounder had complained of severe stomach pain after regular exercise at his Lahore residence. “He suffered cramps in his small intestine during the exercises and was taken to the Shaukat Khanum hospital for diagnosis where doctors decided to do the surgery,” he said. “Imran is out of danger and his condition is stable now.”

    Amarnath blames complacency

New Delhi: Former India cricketer Mohinder Amarnath criticised Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men on Monday for taking a depleted but spirited Australian side too lightly and said the hosts’ overconfidence eventually cost them the ODI series. “The Indian team made a mistake by taking their opponents lightly. Overconfidence was the major factor (in the defeat). We made so many mistakes on the field and our bowling was also not upto the mark in the series,” Amarnath said.
