CID unleashed upon me: Manpreet writes in complaint to police chief

‘Hounded’ by the state intelligence,former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal is seeking recourse from the person who heads it. In a letter to Punjab DGP,PS Gill,Badal has objected to his “undue surveillance” and accused the CID of intimidation,harassment and trespass. Badal has also cited instances and sent pictures of ‘suspects’ at his public meetings.

“One team of the CID is stationed right next to my official residence at Chandigarh — House number 47,Sector 2 — and a second at a house near it. They are taking photographs and noting down registration numbers of (the vehicles of) all visitors to my residence. CID men are also videographing my public meetings and noting down numbers of vehicles and intimidating my supporters,” his letter says. Manpreet also says his supporters were accosted and threatened.
