CISF at Mumbai airport gets ISO Certification

The Central Industrial Security Force Unit of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport,Mumbai,has been given a ISO 9001:2008 certification for providing quality security services at CSIA.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA),Mumbai,has been given a ISO 9001:2008 certification for providing quality security services at CSIA. The  certificate  was  handed over by Ganpathy Varadharaj,  Country Manager for India & Sri Lanka Lloyd’s Register Asia,to J  S Negi,Sr. Commandant CISF Unit CSIA Mumbai.

“This recognition has come at a time when CISF staff at CSIA has been performing an uphill task in the wake of an increase in passenger traffic in the last few years combined with an increase in terror threats and alerts as well,” said J S Negi.

CISF provides security coverage to 57 airports across the country and the CISF unit deployed at CSIA Mumbai is amongst the few units to become an ISO 9001:2008 certified. The security procedures and its documentation adopted by CISF at CSIA have been found to meet ISO standards by a team of auditors. 

The CISF came into existence in 1969 and in a span of four decades it has grown several folds to reach one lakh twelve thousand personnel today.
