Oscar-award winning actress Catherine Zeta Jones is set to make her Broadway debut next month in a musical.

The 40-year-old actress made her stage debut as the lead in Annie at the Swansea Grand Theatre at a young age of 12.

Now, 28 years later she is again treading the boards, although in Sir Trevor Nunn's eagerly awaited revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical 'A Little Night Music', The Guardian reported.

In the production the 'Chicago' actress portrays a flamboyant actress called Desiree Armfeldt and sings one of Sondheim's most famous songs, "Send in the Clowns".

"The name sums her up. She is desired by many members of the opposite sex. It's very sensual, it's very sexy, it's funny, it's poignant," Jones said.

The musical will also see the Welsh beauty pairing with 84-year-old actress Angela Lansbury, who plays her mother.
