He was trying to frame Verma. “It was a case of love triangle,” said a senior police officer. Verma and Narender were in love with the same woman and to get Verma out of the way,Narender hatched this conspiracy.

“He stole Verma’s driving licence, got Verma’s photo from Internet and used them to procure the SIM cards,” the officer said. “The photograph of Verma must have been clicked seven years ago and was lifted from a social networking website.” Verma used to be a model before joining as a coach in Constitution Club gym and had divorced his wife a few years ago.

According to officers,Jasvinder Singh,a cellphone shop owner in Gaffar market from whom Narender had bought one of the SIM cards, helped the police prepare his sketch. The arrest was made on basis of the sketch and electronic surveillance of the phone numbers used.

Officers said he sent the threatening messages to MPs from Karol Bagh,Tank Road and other adjoining areas of the Central district. “The SIM cards were bought for that purpose,” the officer said. Besides,a call each had been made to Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Income Tax office and Jeevan Mala office on April 13. The same day, threat messages were sent to the MPs.
