Controversial Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, who is facing impeachment in Parliament following allegations of corruption, was on Friday transferred to the Sikkim HC. A notification to this effect was issued by the Union Law and Justice Ministry after it was cleared by the President.
While Dinakaran, who has not been handling judicial work in his present post since December last year, has indicated he would take up work after taking over in Sikkim, the local Bar has already come out against such a move, asserting it would boycott his court.
Dinakaran has been asked to assume charge as Sikkim HC Chief Justice on or before August 13. His place in Karnataka HC will be taken by Uttarakhand Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Kheher.
