Justice Rajan Gupta of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on an application moved by Pranay Jain,a dyslexic student.
Jain has sought directions from the court for CBSE to declare his result for the examination of AIEEE. Jain has submitted that his result has been withheld and is not being declared.
Taking stock of the contentions, the High Court has directed the CBSE to file its response within 48 hours.
The application was filed by Jain in an ongoing petition pending in the High Court where Jain had demanded directions to the CBSE to consider him in the disabled category which was allowed by the court.
On the other hand, the CBSE,last week, had challenged an order dated April 24 awarded by a single bench of the High Court in favour of Pranay Jain. On April 23,a single bench had come to the rescue of dyslexic children, appearing for competitive examinations.
The court had allowed one hours extra time for each paper,to dyslexic children, appearing for the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Stating that there is no provision in the entire prospectus of AIEEE for providing extra time of one hour to any student.
Taking stock,a division bench comprising Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice Jasbir Singh had issued notices to Pranay Jain and the Union of India.
