Excel Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have released the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day on DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Excel Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have released the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day on DVD and Blu-ray formats. The film tracks the life of June Havens (Cameron Diaz) who gets mixed up with Roy Miller (Tom Cruise),a mysteriously eccentric secret agent on a life or death mission. In order to stay alive,they must escape the bad guys as well as the worse guys who are endlessly chasing them around the world. The Knight and Day DVD contains special features such as Wilder Knights and Crazier Days and Someday: featuring the Black Eyed Peas and Tom Cruise. The movie is available on Blu-ray (alongwith DVD at Rs 1299),DVD (English,Hindi at Rs 499) and VCD (English,Rs 299),VCD (Hindi,Rs 99).

Shemaroo releases hit black-and-white films called Vintage Collection

Shemaroo Entertainment has released a total of 60 movies from the 1950s and 1960s which contains classics such as Awara,Jis Des Mein Ganga Behti Hai Bandini,Teen Deviyan,Kabuliwala,Devdas,Barsaat,Shree 420,Bimal Roy’s Do Bigha Zamin and Madhumati,Raj Khosla’s Ek Musafir Ek Haseena and Bombai Ka Babu,Nasir Hussain’s Dil Deke Dekho and many more. These directors created magic on celluloid with brilliant framing,light & shade photography,superb silhouettes,that only the black and white films could make possible. Enthusiasts can build their own collection with repackaging and a fresh branding. Each DVD under the Vintage Series will be available at Rs 149 each.

Shemaroo releases Best of 80s DVD

Shemaroo Entertainment has released four movies from the 80s in a single-disc DVD. These movies include Aasha,Hero,Karz and Souten. Aasha stars Jeetendra and Reena Roy and was directed and produced by J Om Prakash and was nominated for many popular awards. Hero is a Subhash Ghai classic that established Jackie Shroff and 1981 Miss India Meenakshi Sheshadri as lead actors. Karz is a modern classic,once again directed by Subhash Ghai. The film starred Rishi Kapoor,Tina Munim and Simi Garewal in lead roles. The film’s chartbuster songs by Laxmikant-Pyarelal continue to be played and remixed to this day. Souten,on the other hand,stars Rajesh Khanna,Tina Munim and Padmini Kolhapure in lead roles and was helmed by producer-director Sawan Kumar Tak. The DVD is priced at Rs 399.

BIG Home Entertainment releases Despicable Me

Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Reliance BIG Home Video have released Despicable Me on DVD and Blu-ray. Surrounded by an army of tireless,little yellow Minions,movie aficiados discover Gru (Steve Carell),planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon with the help of three little girls named Margo,Edith and Agnes. The Despicable Me DVD includes free Minion stickers and an opportunity to participate in a contest and win cool movie merchandise. The DVD will be extensively promoted on radio and mobile platforms. Despicable Me is available on Blu-ray (English,Rs 1299),DVD (English,Rs.499),VCD (English,Rs.299) and VCD (Hindi,Rs.99).

Shemaroo World Cinema releases French Romantics Classics

Shemaroo World Cinema has released three French romantic titles,Queen Margot,A Heart in Winter and Jean De Florette in a special DVD box-set. Queen Margot is directed by Lareine Margot and tracks the arranged marriage of Margot de Valois (Isabelle Adjani) to Henri of Navarre (Daniel Auteuil) to cement a partnership between Protestants and Catholics in France. Claude Sautet’s A Heart in Winter showcases sexual drama when a beautiful young violinist,Camille (Emmanuelle Beart) decides to train her sights on the busy Stephane (Daniel Auteuil),the chief instrument builder in a violin shop after sharing a bed with business partner,Maxime (Andre Dussollier). Jean De Florette,a Claude Berri directed movie,deals with the dark side of human nature and has been labelled as the cruelest non-violent movie one can come across. The DVD box-set containing the three movies is available for Rs 699.

Shemaroo releases Ishqiya and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani on Blu Ray

Shemaroo Entertainment has joined the fast-growing and lucrative Blu-ray market by releasing Ishqiya and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani on the format. Ishqiya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and stars Naseeruddin Shah,Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a romantic comedy starring Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Ishqiya and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani on Blu-ray is priced at Rs 799 each.
