Sending text messages for demanding money from former Nepal king Gyanendra's daughter has landed personal secretary to the ex-princess and two others in police net.

Pratiksya Shah, secretary to ex-princess Prerana Singh, and Rajesh Hamal, who runs a guest house in Gongabun area in the outskirt of the city, were arrested for demanding Rs 10 million using mobile text messaging.

Another man, Deepak Hamal, whose mobile was used for the purpose, has also been arrested from Nepalgunj town in western Nepal.

Nepali Police Spokesman Bigyan Raj Achary said on Wednesday that Hamal, who is also involved in illegal trade of life saving herb 'Yarshagumba', had acquired Prerana's mobile number from Pratikshya.

The key accused sent four messages to Prerana on November 10 asking her to send Rs 10 million through her secretary Pratikshya. He also threatened to kill Prerana's husband and son if the money was not delivered to him within 24 hours, the police officer said.

Rajesh has admitted to his crime during interrogation saying he made the plan to extort money with the help of his girlfriend as he had to bear huge losses in his business this year, police said.

Police have filed a case against them on charges of kidnapping and extortion.
