FDA officials said that the manufacturing plant of the drink is located on 27 acres in Nandur, about 40 km from the city

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) seized a stock of an energising drink in the city worth Rs 77 lakh and has sent the samples to Mumbai for laboratory check.

Joint Commissioner of FDA, Sanjay Patil said, “We have cracked down on this cache of energy booster beverage from the Goldwin Healthcare, its main distribution centre in Phursungi. It is a propriety business. This drink is not supposed to have caffeine and carbon contents in it. Besides, this beverage is being marketed as having medicinal value” Patil said adding, “Once the report comes out, we would decide the further course of action..”

The manufacturing plant of the drink is located on 27 acres in Nandur, about 40 km from Pune and this plant churns out 400,000 cans every day. As per the company claims, this beverage contains no alcohol and the ‘high’ in the drink comes from its natural energy boosters Guarana, Ginseng Taurine, Pomegranate and 'B' group vitamins that keep your health in check.
