For the record

REFER to Rajiv Vijayakar’s nostalgic essay (Rare Chords,November 26),I have these to add: Talat Mahmood sang a lovely duet with Geeta Roy for Raj Kapoor in Jaan Pehchan,Armaan bhare dil ki lagan (Khemchand Prakash),in Bewafa (A. R. Qureshi) and in Anhonee (Roshan). He sang Teer chala for Ashok Kumar in Raag Rang for Roshan, and another solo in Naghma for Nashad.

Chitalkar sang three splendid numbers for Dev Anand in Baarish — the solo Daane daane par and two duets with Lata — Phir wohi shaam and Kehte hain pyar kisko and three songs in Sarhad for C. Ramachandra.

On the distaff side,Geeta Roy-Dutt sang for Vyjayanthimala only in two films,Miss Mala under Chitragupta and a stunning Spanish number Dil le gaya in Sitaron Se Aagey for S. D. Burman.
