Ganguly asks police to probe sting charges

A day after a Bengali TV channel alleged that Sourav Gangulys restaurant was being used as an illegal dance bar and pick-up joint,the former Indian captain called up Kolkata Police Commissioner Gautam Mohan Chakrabarti,requesting him to investigate the case.

Clearing the air on the shocking allegation hurled at the management of Souravs,the Park Street-based multi-cuisine restaurant,Ganguly told reporters on Friday,I am in consultation with my lawyers. I am in the process of seeking legal opinion regarding what happened last night. I have spoken to the Police Commissioner about this matter. I have requested him to closely look into the case,and carry out an investigation. Lets see what happens.

Thursdays sting operation,carried out by Channel 10,claimed that the restaurants management had been outsourcing the third floor lounge bar to an agent who was misusing it as a sleaze stopover and pick-up joint.
