On the first day of the Class XII exams for which around 1lakh students from across the district appeared,the flying squads of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) caught three students for copying in Pune district. Students appeared for Marathi paper on Tuesday.

In Pune division,comprising Pune,Ahmednagar and Solapur districts,21 cases of copying were found on Tuesday. According to Pune divisional secretary Sahasrabuddhe,highest number of cases were reported in Solapur district where as many as 17 students were caught for malpractice.

“In Ahmednagar,one student was caught while trying to sneak out from exam centre with answer sheets. A dummy student was found appearing for exam in place of some other student in Solapur,” said Sahasrabuddhe.

According to T N Supe,secretary,MSBSHSE,apart from some minor cases,no major incidents of students indulging in malpractice happened during the exam on the first day. “Strict disciplinary action will be initiated on those who are found copying,” said the official.
