Keeping in view the likely introduction of the Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill,2011 in the coming session of Parliament,Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday ordered a stay on the process of land acquisition in the state. All matters pertaining to acquisition of land where Section 4 notifications have been issued on or after February 1,2011,notification under Section 6 would be issued only after seeing the outcome of the Central law. These instructions would not be applicable to cases of acquisition for essential infrastructure projects such as roads,sewerage system,canals and power projects.
