An IAS officer was suspended on Friday after one of his subordinates alleged that he was being forced to indulge in unnatural sex in office.
Gyaneshwar Patil,an officer of the 2003 batch, and a young panchayat secretary were filmed half-clad in the bathroom of Bhopal district panchayat office in Professors Colony late on Thursday.
Its unclear who tipped a couple of local TV channels but when they reached the panchayat office around 9.30 pm,Satish Chouksey,a secretary of Secundarabad gram panchayat, accused Patil of seeking sexual favours from him for a long time.
The 33-year-old is the chief executive officer of the district panchayat and all panchayat secretaries work under him. Patil denied the allegation saying he was being framed and that the camerapersons, led by the secretary, barged in the moment he entered the bathroom after leaving his trousers outside.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said he had immediately suspended Patil and ordered an inquiry. If he is found guilty, strict action would follow, Chouhan said. Most staffers backed the officer and even struck work in protest against the alleged frame-up. A few union office-bearers,however,accused Patil of seeking sexual favours.
Sir,mujhe fasaya ja raha hai (Sir,I am being framed), he was heard talking to someone on the phone after he was allowed to put on his trousers. The 23-year-old secretary alleged that Patil used to often call him to his office and that he had taped phone conversations to back his allegation that the IAS officer was forcing him to have unnatural sex.
I am innocent. The secretary wanted me to regularise (the employment of ) his friend which I refused, Patil told The Indian Express. He said he had volunteered for a medical examination to nail the secretarys lie.
Both reached the Shyama Hills Police Station and submitted complaints accusing each other of blackmail. The police said they had accepted complaints from both parties and would register a case only after establishing that an offence,if any,was committed.
