IBM inks pact with Rayat and Bahra group

With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding,IBM Global Services announced its collaboration with the Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes at a function held on Monday.

With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),IBM Global Services announced its collaboration with the Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes at a function held on Monday.

The institute would offer a training programme to its engineering students aimed at enhancing their professional skills and improving their chances of employability.

Under the new model,students of BTech batch of 2010 will get an opportunity to undergo specialised training about IBM technologies under the IBM Career Education Programme.

The students shall be trained by Karrox Technologies on five IBM software brands – Tivoli,DB2,Lotus,WebSphere and Rational. The training duration shall last 140-200 hours and will also focus on enhancing soft skills of students to help them improve their chances of employment in the industry.

IBM is also opening a Centre of Excellence at the Rayat-Bahra campus with the aim of providing professional skills to students. The company will also provide the college with access to technologies relevant to the market and equip the faculty to ensure that students are able to gain first-hand experience on all IBM products installed in the college. Through this initiative,IBM will work closely with universities in and around Chandigarh.
