Making her first public appearance after the BSPs unimpressive performance in the Lok Sabha polls,Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday said she stood by her partys programme of Sarva Samaj.
Blaming the Opposition parties from preventing her to become the prime minister,Mayawati said she would continue fighting their casteist mindset.
As for the rallies organised by her party across the state on Friday,Mayawati said it had nothing to do with the birthday celebrations of the Yuvaraj of Congress. Rather it was an awareness campaign against the tactics used by the Opposition parties.
The chief minister, who was addressing a public meeting in Lucknow, said this day had a special significance in the partys history. It was on this day in 1995 when I sought the confidence vote from the Assembly after becoming the CM for the first time, she said.
She focused her speech mainly on her partys performance in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls and compared it with that of the Congress as well as the SP. According to Mayawati, the Congress,BJP and SP had ganged up against the BSP because of their casteist mindset. She announced that her Bhaicahra Committees would continue to work for the Sarva Samaj.
Recalling her partys success in the last Assembly elections, she said her party tried promoting the feeling of brotherhood as well as ensured proper representation to all castes and communities in its list of Lok Sabha candidates.
My public meetings drew an impressive crowd. The BSP was all set to become the balance of power at the Centre, said Mayawati.
The sole aim of the Opposition parties was to stop the Dalit ki beti from becoming the PM of the country. Earlier, these parties had prevented her from becoming the PM after the Left withdrew support to the UPA government over the issue of Indo-US nuclear deal, she said. Earlier in the day,Mayawati took an aerial view of the BSP rallies in different districts.
