India on Thursday rubbished the claim of former Nepal prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda—reported by The Indian Express—that New Delhi and Washington were teaming up to use Nepali territory for anti-China activities.

“We have seen the The Indian Express report today. These allegations are completely baseless and false,” MEA spokesperson Vishnu Prakash told reporters.

“I had to quit as prime minister as my party was opposed to letting our territory be used against China,” Prachanda said while addressing a training programme of his party cadres Wednesday. Prachanda claimed that a senior Indian professor revealed the Indo-US plan to him.
