The FM Rainbow Channel of All India Radio,Jalandhar,bagged four international awards for its programme Good Morning Punjab at the 11th International Radio Festival recently held in Iran. As many as 100 radio organisations from 32 countries had participated in the contest.
Navdeep Singh was adjudged the best producer and was awarded two gold plated trophies,one for production and the second for research and content creation. Birinder Singh and Gurpreet Kaur were declared best anchors,while Naveen Sharma was appreciated for assisting in research and content creation.
Speaking to the media here,AIR Station Director B C Panwar said this was the only programme to win four awards. He said a cash award of US$4,500 was given to the team.
Panwar said the focus of Good Morning Punjab was to sensitise the society against female foeticide and highlight the plights of the girl child.
