A 32-year-old doctor from KEM Hospital in Parel was arrested on Saturday night after a 26-year-old woman accused him of molestation. Dr Dhiraj Dongre, the casualty medical officer (CMO), was produced before a holiday court on Sunday where he was granted bail, the Bhoiwada police said.

The victim, a resident of Parel, was suffering from abdominal pain and came to the hospital around 8 pm on Saturday. While checking the patient, Dongre allegedly asked the victim's husband to wait outside and sent the nurse to fetch some medical equipment. According to the victim, the doctor took advantage of the situation and tried to molest her. The police have booked Dongre under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
