The Kingfisher Airlines is planning to start two more flights for Delhi and Mumbai from Chandigarh. These flights would operate daily from March 28.
The flight for Delhi (IT 3349) will depart at 11.45 am and for Mumbai (IT 3186) will depart at 5 pm. The Kingfisher Airlines already has four flights from Chandigarh two for Delhi,one each for Mumbai and Jammu.
The timings of the new flights have been scheduled keeping in mind the rush of passengers. There was a demand for an evening flight to Mumbai, said an airline official.
With these new flights,the total number of flights from Chandigarh will now be 11. For the last few months,the MDLR has stopped its operations from Chandigarh for all its sectors.
The number of departures and arrivals would be 22 from March 28. As the air passenger traffic has increased over the last few months,more airlines are expected to add flights, said Airport Director Suneel Dutt. Jet Airways is also expected to expand the seating capacity of the flight to Delhi by almost three times.
From March 28,Kingfisher Airlines will also change the schedule of its Chandigarh-Delhi flight. According to the new schedule,the flight would depart at 6.15 pm instead of 5.35 pm. Also,Go-Air Chandigarh-Mumbai flight will now depart at 7.15 pm rather than 6.40 pm.
