Madhya Pradesh government Sunday dismissed the charge of National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) Chairman Buta Singh that atrocities on Dalits were “high” in the state and asked him to stop “politicking”.

“Singh rather than levelling vague charges against the state government over atrocities on Dalits should see how inhumanely the SCs were treated during his Congress party’s regime in the state in the past,” State Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Harishanker Khatik told reporters at a press conference here. “Dalits are happy and prospering in the state with the efforts of BJP government. NCSC should stop politicking.”
