Cricket board president Shahshank Manohar on Saturday accused suspended IPL chairman Lalit Modi of maligning the BCCI and IPL interim commissioner Chirayu Amins image.

Modi,on Friday, had revealed that Amin had expressed interest in investing 10 per cent stake if City Corporation, one of the failed bidders for the Pune franchisee, bagged the rights. Amin was a governing council member of IPL before being appointed interim chairman. In a text message,Amin had confirmed the same day that he had expressed interest in buying a stake in the Aniruddha Deshpande-led consortium.

But Manohar today said in a statement: It is alleged by Modi, that Amin had given a bid along with the Pune franchisee City Corporation Ltd. He has further alleged that I did not inform him about the letter from Amin seeking permission to bid and that the said communication was suppressed from him and the governing council members.

He said Modi sent a message to the Pune franchise through Maharastra Cricket Association president Ajay Shirke, asking them to contact Amin and ask him to be a part of the consortium.

Manohar also accused Modi of suppressing information about the Deshpande-led bid under the name of City Corporation. Modi made a statement that Aniruddha Deshpande, had informed him that though the bid was submitted on behalf of City Corporation Ltd,it was in fact a personal bid on behalf of himself. Mr Modi ,who claims to be above board in all matters, did not think this very cogent and important piece of information should be shared with Governing Council Members.
