New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) on Wednesday said it posted a standalone net profit of Rs 3.31 crore as compared to a loss of Rs 0.17 crore for the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, net sales on a standalone basis stood at Rs 90.54 crore for the quarter. It stood at Rs 67.37 crore in the same period of the previous year. The company’s board recommended a dividend of 80 paise a share of face value Rs 4 each (20 per cent).
NDTV recorded a standalone profit of Rs 4.28 crore for the year as compared to a loss of Rs 6.89 crore in the same period a year ago. The firm’s net sales on a standalone basis stood at Rs 305.62 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008, whereas it was Rs 235.38 crore in last year. NDTV’s consolidated loss has widened to Rs 116.53 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 compared to Rs 7.25 crore a year ago. However, the consolidated net sales stood at Rs 122.21 crore for period as against Rs 81.45 crore in the year-ago period. For the year ended March 31, NDTV posted a consolidated loss of Rs 188.57 crore as compared to Rs 14.72 crore last year. The company’s consolidated net sales stood at Rs 366.13 crore for the year against Rs 278.45 crore a year ago.
