Namrat's hat-trick anchors Carmel win

Ludhiana, October 8: A hat trick by Namrat Kochhar helped Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 drub Vivek High School, Sector 37 in the Chandigarh Sub-Junior Girls Football Championship for Dr Kamesh Bhargava Memorial Trophy being organised by the Chandigarh Football Association at the Sector 17 Football Stadium on Wednesday.

Namrat scored in the 2nd, 16th and 37th minute while Ekta Kochhar and Meghna Bhasin added one goa,each in the 25th and 45th minute to register an emphatic victory.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26 routed Saupin's School, Sector 32 by 2-0. Savita and Manpreet scored for the team in the 10th and 25th minute.

In the third match, Mount Carmel School, Sector 47 ousted the Banyan Tree School, Sector 48 by 3-0. Priyanka, Namita and Richa scored one goal each in the 19th, 27th and 32nd minute.

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37 were awarded a walk-over after St Kabir withdrew from the tournament.
