As the Trinamool Congress winded up its campaign, party chief Mamata Banerjee said she will not quit the UPA but would continue to criticise anti-people policies of the Congress.
Speaking at an election rally in Behala,Banerjee said the incumbent UPA government at the Centre is not a property of one-party but a coalition.
We are there (in the UPA) like DMK and Muslim League. Why should we leave? she said.
We are happy that they (the Congress) are ruling in Delhi. I am not going to capture Delhi. But in Bengal we will not allow them to make CPM strong, she added.
She blamed the Congress for the breach in the alliance. The onus is on them. They are trying to push for CPM. I will not let this happen. It is clear like daylight, who is right and who is wrong, she said.
She also slammed Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for seeking votes from BJP supporters.
The chief minister is now begging to BJP for votes. See to what level they can stoop. It is the same party which labelled us communal. On one hand, the CPM is joining hands with the BJP and on the other hand they are begging other party (read Congress) to make a dent in our votebank, she said.
She also counted her achievements as a successful railway minister for Bengal and highlighted various projects for the state.
