The BJP leadership in Himachal Pradesh finds itself in a spot following the release of three CDs allegedly involving Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shimla MP Virender Kashyap.
In one of the audio CDs Dhumal is purportedly heard speaking about the FIR against Union Minister Virbhadra Singh also related to a CD involving the former CM released by former state minister Major Vijai Singh Mankotia and accepting that the Congress leaders voice was recorded in 1989,maybe by Shanta Kumars men. I didnt have any hand in it. This is truth, the CM is heard saying.
In the second CD,Dhumal is allegedly in conversation with Additional DGP (Vigilance) D S Manhas about the Virbhadra CD and about the former CMs claim that his phones were being tapped by the state investigating agencies. The CDs,all of which are in the possession of The Indian Express, also carried a transcript of the alleged conversations between Dhumal and Manhas.
The third CD seemingly contains video footage showing Shimla MP Kashyap accepting cash from two persons for facilitating a land transfer in Solan district. The video shows the MP accepting the cash and assures his help before putting the bundle into his pocket. The recording was done at a Solan hotel in April 2009,just before Lok Sabha polls.
Dhumal, who was in Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said he will respond only after hearing the CDs. We will also take appropriate action, he told The Indian Express.
