Atlas Copco, which claims to be a leader in the country in the three business areas it operates — air and gas compressors, construction and mining equipment and industrial tools and assembly systems —will kick off its golden jubilee celebrations from Thursday. The company set up its facility first at Dapodi on January 28, 1960.

“India is one of the most important growth markets for the Atlas Copco Group, where we have tripled our size over the last five years , ” said Filip Vandenberghe, managing director of Atlas Copco (India) Limited at a press conference at the company premises on Wednesday. “We will continue to invest in the business and in people and by focusing on customer satisfaction, new products and outstanding services, we will continue to give strong support for future growth in the country, like we have done in the past 50 years of our existence in India.” He said not only would there be more investments, but the company would also be hiring more hands in future.

The golden jubilee celebrations will kick off with a cake cutting ceremony in all Atlas Copco India entities over the country, and will be followed throughout the year with several events, focusing on customers, business partners and employees. The company's industrial air division will launch in India a range of new oil injected screw compressors. With state-of-art manufacturing facilities today at Pune, Nashik and Hyderabad, the company has a national presence with over 1750 highly skilled employees in 22 offices across India. Both the manufacturing plants in Pune and Nashik are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. In addition, the company has two captive engineering competency centers dedicated to compressor technique and construction and mining equipment technique business areas, stated a company release.
