Accusing the Pakistani Army and the Rangers of facilitating infiltration, BSF chief Raman Srivastava said on Tuesday that the Indian Army and BSF have been alerted along the border to foil attempts by a large number of militants waiting at different launching pads to cross over.

"We have inputs from various sources that a large number of militants are waiting at different points along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) at different launching pads in Pakistan to enter this side," he told reporters at BSF headquarters here after placing a wreath on the body of DIG O P Tanwar.

52-year-old Tanwar was killed on Monday in a blast triggered by militants near the Indo-Pak border in Samba district's Ballad post where he had gone to conduct a combing operation after the area came under fire from across border.

Srivastava said the entire border has been alerted. "The Army has been alerted along LoC. We are alert on IB," he said.

"We are trying to prevent infiltration. We expect a surge in infiltration before snow closes the passes. We know they (militants) are going to try. They have tried in past. We have repulsed them at many places."

Asked if Pakistani Rangers were involved in facilitating infiltration, the BSF DG said the Pakistani Rangers and the Army have "always" facilitated infiltration. "You see that it is not an old thing. It is also nothing new".

To repeated questions on direct involvement of Pakistan elements in triggering the blast in which the DIG was killed and also in facilitating infiltration, he said, "We cannot say it was done by the Pakistani rangers or ISI. We cannot pin point who is directly responsible".

It is time for right thinking people irrespetive of religion and caste to unite and fight against present poltical system Do not waste your vote. Vote for the right people even if they do not belong to any popular party. Only miracle can save India from poltical and moral detrioration.
PakBy: Vaid S C K | 18-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward So long as India is afraid of USA/UK or nuclear bombs of Pak, India shall continue to face such humilation. Our Jawans and Officers are daily dying. India must reply in the language understood by Pak, not caring for crossing border or hot chase and take revenge there and then like Israelis, only then we can think of peace. We must not allow our soldiers die like orphans, it is shame for the entire nation.
How longBy: anand | 18-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The wordings of DG of BSF is showing a kind of helplesness and nervousness. How long India will tolerate such humiliations and attrocities. This is the question every Indian wants to ask the government. The UPA government should realise one thing. They should not take anything for granted and the writing on the wall is very clear. We have to take tough and aggressive actions without any more execuses. The actions should be both diplomatically and militarly. Otherwise things may go out of hand.
Strategy ShiftBy: Deep | 18-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward 60 years of Indian restraint in response to Pak shenanigans has borne no fruit, and the acquisition of nukes by Pak now ensures that a military response carries unacceptable risks. India should simply take a leaf out of Pakistan's book and fight fire with fire by supporting and supplying the Baloch insurgency, including arming and training the Baloch separatists. It should mirror Pak's words on Kashmir and state unambiguously "India morally supports the rights of the Balochis for self-determination and encourages their pursuit of happiness. We request the UN to conduct a plebiscite in Balochistan." It will threaten the very fabric of Pakistan and may cause the balkanization of that country. When Pakistan cries foul, India's response should be, "Why, you don't like a dose of your own medicine? Here's an idea -- stop messing around in Kashmir, give us LeT and Hafiz Sayeed, and maybe we'll stop causing your country to break up from internal insurgencies." Then watch Pak cry and comply.
Pak Army facilitating infiltrationBy: skulkarni | 17-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Dear Dr. Anand Yoy are doing same thing as you are saying about Mr.Dube,comments.Mr.Dubey, just like you is expressing his views. What have you done about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, what would have happened to Pandits if our army was not there to protect them, what Muslims have done to Pandits and how India in general has failed to protect Pandits. How can you say Indian soldiers are not sacrificing their lives to protect India. There is a war in Kashmir and during war unfortunate incidences do happen and such behaviour is and must be taken care of.If you want the taste of Pakistani army,go to Pakistan or Bangladesh.Kashmir has remained with us, not because of Pandits, they ran away, but due to brave soldiers.Your advice to Mr. Dube of joining the Army is well suited for the Indian Politicians and Pnadit youths.
