Almost two weeks after 53 Indian passengers onboard Air France flight AF-218 from Paris to Mumbai accused the airline of racial discrimination, the airline on Wednesday offered them compensation by means of an airline voucher worth 350 euros each. However, the passengers refused to accept it,terming it an apology of a compensation.

On May 12,53 passengers landed at Mumbai airport from Paris after an ordeal of 28 hours because of a technical snag in the aircraft that caused it to return to Pariss Charles de Gaulle airport. Passengers alleged that they were made to spend an entire night inside an immigration hall at Paris airport while European and American passengers were provided with transit visas to check into nearby hotels. Air France officials were not available for comment.
