Punjab Waqf Board will open a convent school in Ludhiana in future. This was disclosed by Izhar Alam,Chairman,Punjab Waqf Board,and former ADGP,Punjab,who came here along with other members of Waqf Board to hold a meeting with Shahi Imam Punjab,Habib-ur-Rehman Sani Ludhianvi.
The chairman said,It may take a few years to start this school as we will have to first decide the place,construct the building etc. This school will be for one and all,but it will provide religious education as an optional subject,so that students like Muslim students could be facilitated with the facility of studying Arabic language etc. It will be a public school and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education,Delhi.
Talking to The Indian Express,Izhar Alam said,About four years ago,the Punjab Waqf Board constructed a big hospital at Malerkotla under the name Daihaneema. But the finishing touches are yet to be given to it. I hope by the end of this year,we would be able to equip it with technology and required staff and make it functional.
Talking about the problems being faced by Muslims in Punjab whether related to Idgaah or with crematorium(Kabristaan) ,he said,I have just joined four days ago. I will check up the financial resources of the Waqf Board and would do best possible to solve these pending problems.
