The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) expressed disapproval of the views of former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh on Pakistan’s founder,Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday expressed disapproval of the views of former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh on Pakistan’s founder,Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Reacting to Singh’s statement RSS National Executive Committee member Ram Madhav said, the Sangh did not agree with his views. Madhav, also said he has not gone through the book, and added that it is premature to make any comments on the views expressed by Singh.

In an interview to a private news channel on Saturday Singh said “Jinnah was demonized by India while it was actually India”s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s belief in a centralized polity that led to partition.”

Singh who has penned a Jinnah’s biography titled,“Jinnah India,Partition Independence” is scheduled to be released on Monday evening. In the interview Singh also categorically made it clear that the views on Jinnah are his own.

Singh strongly contested the popular Indian view that Jinnah was the man responsible for the country’s partition, and said there was a need to correct this distortion of history. “I think we have misunderstood Jinnah because we needed to create a demon. We needed a demon because in the 20th century the most telling event in the subcontinent was the partition of the country,” Singh said.
