Railway Minister to visit city on November 21

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to make her first visit to the city,after taking over the ministry,on November 21.

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to make her first visit to the city,after taking over the ministry,on November 21. She is expected to inaugurate a series of projects and flag-off numerous services,including 15-car rake service on WR.

The Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) officials are busy preparing for her visit. Ironically,none of the zonal railways has been informed about Mamata’s plans.  

Sources said that Mamata is expected to visit Andheri station. She would inaugurate various projects and kick-start several other services through video conferencing.

“She is expected to flag off the first 15-car rake service,” said a WR official,but there are series of projects,which the Railway Minister is going to kick-start. The much awaited 15-car rake service would halt at Mumbai Central,Dadar,Andheri,Borivali and Virar stations.

The minister is likely to flag off a ladies’special train on WR. After taking over as the Railway Minister,Mamata had flagged off a CST-Panvel ladies-special through video conferencing. She would also inaugurate the Dadar-Midtown Terminus,which is expected to decongest Bandra and Mumbai Central terminus,and inaugurate several long distance trains.
