Rajat Barmecha plays a cameo in Shaitan

Rajat Barmecha who played the troubled teen in Vikramaditya Motwane's Udaan will now be seen in a forthcoming film,Shaitan.

Rajat Barmecha who played the troubled teen in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan will now be seen in a forthcoming film,Shaitan.

The young actor,who was nominated in the most promising newcomer category for Karbonn Mobiles 17th Annual Star Screen Awards will be seen in a cameo in this gritty,edge-of-the-seat thriller based on real-life incidents.

Set in Mumbai,the film is about a group of youngsters and an upright cop. Rajeev Khandelwal,who is playing the cop will be presented in an entirely different light in the movie. Kalki Koechlin,Nikhil Chinappa,Sheetal Menon and Rajit Kapoor comprise the remaining cast.

“Rajat is playing a quirky character and a complete contrast to what he played in Udaan,” said Beejoy Nambiar,the director of the film. The film is produced by Beejoy’s production house Getaway,Anurag Kashyap and Sunil Bohra.

The music is by newbie Prashan Pillai,who was assistant to A.R. Rahman. Shaitan releases on April 15.
