The United States has said it is ready to assist India in the war on terror after serial blasts rocked New Delhi, underscoring that such macabre acts only united those committed to peaceful and democratic society.

"We are ready to assist the Indian government in its ongoing fight to eliminate the scourge of terrorism," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack has said in a statement.

He said the tragedy serves as a reminder that "terrorism did not deter, but unites those committed to peaceful and political means as the guarantor of a free, democratic and prosperous society".

The spokesman condemned the terrorist attacks on September 13 in New Delhi and extended sympathy to the families of those killed and injured in the blasts.

Terrorism and Help offered by USBy: Syamasundara prasad Turaga | 16-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward Dear Editor, It is uncertain whether to accept the US offer or deney. I feel to take the advantage of the benefit of modern technology that possed by developed countries insted of lamenting on self reeliance to face such challenges. It is clear that US has definitely has an advanced technology befitting to reply the modern terrorism.
Handling TerrorismBy: Sachin | 16-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward We definitely need the help from USA to eradicate terrorisom from India. Now this Terrorism which is executed by Pakistan and supported by china against India cannot be solved by our useless babu police system. Our Indian System lacks quality in organising SYSTEM to confront such threats. In our current system the foreign aircrafts can come and go thru' Indian Airspace without being questioned.!! This needs a technological and system based CHANGE. We also need a stronger support to deter both Pakistani and Chinese supporters. Hence I feel this is a right time to get whatever support possible from USA in this move.
US lost war on terrorBy: Jamsheed Basha | 16-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward USA should first keep its house in order. It is the perpetrator of State sponsored terrorism. What it is doing in Iraq and Afghan is nothing but another sort of terrorism. It has occupied the sovereign states in the false pretext of removing WMD in Iraq which they never recovered. In the bargain, Saddam lost his life. The US is in for more trouble in Afghan as it has penetrated into Pakistan. It is battling to save its own people, whose casualty is growing day by day with suicide bombings in Iraq unabated. The US will find Iraq and Afghan tougher than Vietnam and Korea. These determined people would send back US soldiers in coffins. It is for sure, that US will not win a war in Afghan or Iraq. If it does anything silly in Iran, it will be the end of US. It is already suffering economically due to recession as it has burnt its fingers in this region. Now it is trying to counsel India after having failed in its so called war on terror launched seven years ago. US should leve Iraq early.
Terrorism and politicsBy: Mohanan Nair | 16-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward We do not need any assistance from USA what we need to do is that to remove all the ministers who are supporting/ and closly associated with terrorist. It is unfortunate to say that our politicians support terorrist and existing laws are made for them to escape. If they are not supporting why afsal guru is still enjoying the life. Remove terrorist from our political system Do not blame other coutries for terrorism.
US could helpBy: Anon | 16-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward US could help by eradicating training bases in Pukistan
