Rly employees to put up street play on H1N1

In their first play,they showed the spread of swine flu by comparing it with a train on fire. One coach on fire can spread on to other coaches and subsequently engulf the whole train.

In their first play,they showed the spread of swine flu by comparing it with a train on fire. One coach on fire can spread on to other coaches and subsequently engulf the whole train. After successfully getting this message across,the railways employees are ready to put up another performance — this time entirely on the precautions one need to take to keep the H1N1 virus at bay.

The play,written and directed by Y K Singh,PRO,Central Railways,Pune Division,has four characters — Madaari,Jamoora,Assistant and Gangu.

“The characters narrate the precautionary steps,cleanliness and hygiene requirements for controlling the spread of swine flu. The play also mentions the hospitals one can approach in case he/she shows any symptoms,” said Singh.

In the 20-minute play,Balkrushna Kamble portrays Madaari,Guru Sona plays Jamoora,Kiran Hojage plays the Assistant and Gangu is played by Y K Singh himself.

R C Saxena has given the music while the songs have been composed by Tushar Trivedi.

“The play will be staged at the Railway Station premises. Our motive is to reach out to maximum people. We are planning to tie up with Doordarshan and All India Radio. We also want to bring out the CDs of our plays,” said Singh.
