




The miscreants tied the hands and legs of a security guard of the godown, Devendra Kumar, before escaping.
An FIR against unidentified assailants has been lodged by the godown owner Somnath Chadda, a clearing and forwarding ( C & F) agent of Glaxo Smithkline.
Additional Superintendent of Police ( East ) Harish Kumar said, “It is not clear how the miscreants entered the godown, as Kumar had locked the main gate from the inside.” The police said Kumar told them that he was arranging medicines inside the godown when he heard a sound on the first floor. When he was moving towards the stairs, two unidentified persons attacked him from the behind and covered his face with a blanket.
“Kumar told us that after tying his hands and legs, the miscreants snatched the keys of the main gate from him and opened the gate. Subsequently, nearly 10 people entered the godown and loaded medicines on to a truck, “ said Sadhu Ram, Station Officer, Sarojini Nagar police station. The security guard said: “Before leaving, the miscreants did not close the gate of the godown.” The Chief manager of the C & F, J P Yadav said: “When a consignment of medicine reached the store in morning, the vehicle driver found Kumar lying inside the godown with his hand and legs tied.” The guard has been sent to the hospital for medical checkup.
