Salman’s Robinhood Pandey real,believeable: Arbaaz
Abhinav Kashyaps masala entertainer and Salman Khan starrer,Dabangg promises some scintillating action.
Abhinav Kashyaps directorial debut Dabangg promises to be a visual treat for hardcore action fans. Most Hindi films are shot within 60 days, but it took Kashyap 60 days just to shoot the action scenes for Dabangg.
Since the film is based in Bihar, there is a lot of aggressive fist-fighting and action director S. Vijayan, who shot some high-intensity action sequences in Wanted has now gone a notch higher in Dabangg.
“There is one particular fight sequence, part of which was shot inside a room. The 20x 40 room was closed and on fire. About a dozen men, including Salman Khan, were fist-fighting furiously. Our hearts were in our mouths as the gas cylinders could have blown up any time but Salman refused to let a double take his place, said Kashyap .
The director has also attempted several new things in the film. Salman will be seen sans his trademark six-pack abs as cops in the north do not have chiselled bodies. The actor is also sporting a moustache for the first time and spouting a Bihari dialect.
Even though the film is a hardcore commercial entertainer,Salman s role is very believable and real. He had his own take on Robinhood Pandey, the character written by Abhinav Kashyap. There is always an enhancement between a written character and what is seen on screen, and Salman has elevated his character considerably, said Arbaaz Khan, the first-time producer ,who is also acting in the film.
Effective action in a film requires time, money and a bankable star and I don’t think we could have achieved the required effect and response without Salman, he added.
