Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Left Front chairman Biman Bose on Monday visited the Peerless Hospital to meet CPM supporter Bapi Dhar,who was shot by a jawan of the Tripura paramilitary force during polling yesterday. After his condition became critical,Dhar was shifted to the ICU. Meanwhile,the state government has called for the suspension of jawan Sandip Sharma who shot Dhar at a polling station in Kendua Mahendranath High School of Patuli. “We have recommended to the Tripura government to suspend the jawan,” said Home Secretary Samar Ghosh. On Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee calling Dhar a “known criminal”,several CPM supporters staged a demonstration in Dhar’s locality at Patuli calling Banerjee’s remark “unfortunate”.
