Six more persons were arrested on Thursday in connection with the gruesome murder of an Indian-origin woman found lying on a street in Greenford, west London, with severe head injuries and her right hand chopped off, the Scotland Yard said.

Investigating officers earlier apprehended victim Geeta Aulakh’s estranged husband Harpeet Aulakh and five others following the incident on Monday. All of them have secured bail and will return to court in mid-January 2010, pending further inquiries.

“Officers investigating the murder of 28-year-old Geeta Aulakh, a receptionist with the popular Asian radio station Sunrise Radio, have made six new arrests,” the Scotland Yard said.

The six men were arrested on Thursday morning at an address in Ealing and remain in custody at a west London police station, it said, without divulging further details.
