  • Riding high on Reema Malhotra's fine all round display (67 and 1 for 14), Delhi scored a comprehensive 62-run win over Haryana in match of the Senior Inter-State Cricket Tournament for women being played at Sector 16 Stadium on Thursday. Malhotra scored 67 runs off 81 balls to steer his team to an imposing total of 226 in the allotted overs before Haryana made 164 for 9 in 50 overs.

After Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first, Haryana were always on the back foot. Openers Lalita Kumari and Neha Tanwar gave their team a fine start as they were involved in a 51-run partnership for the first wicket before Latika Kumari departed after contributing 23 runs falling to Prerna Batra. Neha Tanwar too fell to the bowling of Batra after making 38 runs with Delhi scorecard reading 89 for 2 in 23.5 overs.

Skipper Reema then joined Deepti Dhyani as they carried the total to 109 before Dhyani was run out by Batra at an individual score of 18 runs. Reema and Shilpa Gupta were then associated in a 61-run stand for the fourth wicket before Shilpa was trapped lbw by Tanwar at an individual score of 26 runs. Reema then helped Delhi getting past the 200-run mark as Delhi posted a healthy total of 226 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs. For Haryana, Orerna Batra picked up two wickets giving away 40 runs while Mehak Kesar, Nirupama Tanwar and Shashi claimed one wicket each.
