A Group of 23 senior military officers from Sri Lanka led by Brig KJ Wijetilleke,the chief instructor of Defence Services Command and Staff College of Sri Lanka,visited the National Defence Academy (NDA),Khadakwasla,on Tuesday.
The visit was part of their tour to various important military training institutions in the country. NDA Commandant Vice Admiral RK Dhowan,briefed the delegation on various training curriculum of the academy. Being a unique tri-services training institution,the NDA is a fixture on the itinerary of important military delegations,said a press note.
The visit of senior military leaders from Sri Lanka will help in building military ties between India and Sri Lanka.
The NDA imparts military training to cadets from many friendly foreign countries.
Training of military leaders of various countries in their formative years will not only build mutual confidence and long-term friendship,but also helps in overcoming the functional difficulties when working under any common flag such as the United Nations,the note said.
