Swine flu: 4 more quarantined

Four more passengers were quarantined in the state for swine flu on Wednesday. So far 48 people have been quarantined in the state.

A 30-year-old man who went to Greece on June 10 and returned on Sunday was isolated at Kasturba Hospital after complaining of cough and fever. The hospital also admitted a 24-year-old Mumbai resident who had been to Singapore and Malaysia from May 30 to 22 June and had mild breathlessness and headache.

Meanwhile,two persons were admitted to Pune’s Naidu Hospital. A 29-year-old who returned from US early Wednesday and was admitted to Naidu Hospital after he had headache,throat ache and fever. A 38-year-old man,also a Pune resident,who had been to Singapore had complained of cough on Monday and was referred to Naidu hospital on Wednesday for fever.

“Throat swabs of all four admitted have been sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune along with two others admitted on Tuesday,” said Dr U Gawande,incharge of swine flu in the state.
